Waiting for Referral
March 2007  |  April 2007  |  May-August 2007

March 2007

We welcome you to follow our journey to our baby girl.

We met 15 years ago, and have dreamed of having a daughter one day. The day is soon to be here and we can hardly wait. You would think the wait would be the easiest part of this whole journey, but not so, some days can be hard.

My wife was going through some holiday cards, and some prior Christmas and Birthday cards and we would write to each other, “this is our last Christmas by ourselves”, well we got two Christmases of those. This time we believe we actually can say that, “thank God!”

Starting the process, we hit it hard and heavy!!!!! We were able to send pictures of the baby’s room to the CCAA when sending our letter of intent, some people might think that we were a little pro-active, but that’s the we are.

Well, March will be our thirteen month log in date, We are getting there. I do know that checking the CCAA web site was a bit nerve racking, until they updated it.

We have been keeping ourselves busy from time to time, like staining new trim and installing it, painting rooms, install tile on our fire place (12’ in length), that was a good size week end project!

Rains here in Oregon quite a bit in the winter, so the outside projects have to wait.

Last year we went to my parents house for my sisters wedding and there was a wonderful surprise, My Dad had actually hand constructed a authentic Chinese bridge over his koi pond, WOW, how beautiful it is. “Great job Dad”, He researched the style and colors and built it by hand. And Mom surprised us with a custom made Life book! It is so awesome! It has red silk w\gold dragons on the cover and the pages have various Chinese logos, “just what the doctor ordered”.

And some very dear friends to us, “they are family in our hearts”, Hand made a one of a kind quilt with hearts on one side and a flamingo on the other side with our daughters name, “there’s a story behind the flamingos” Thanks a lot, we won’t be able to get rid of that bird, Pat!

Also she hand made a beautiful Hello Kitty growth chart. “Way to go, Don & Pat!”

Thank you for all you support, and we hope you will continue to follow our journey with us. We'll periodically post updates to this page as we wait for Chloe. Please continue to check back to see a family made.
