May/June/July/August 2007
Well, not allot has been happening lately, Other than the
long wait. August 16th is our 18th month log in date.
It does seem like time has flown very quickly for us, but
on the same note, it has dragged on. We constantly have
friends and family asking on a weekly basis, if we have
heard anything yet? The same answer has been said, day
after day, week after week and month after month, “Not
yet, but were are only a couple groups away.”
There is light at the end of the tunnel and we are getting
closer, We could not imagine right now, if we were to just
start this process. There are rumors, that things will
pick up fairly soon, so we remain optimistic in this whole
process.
‘Lil’ Jack had a big ordeal, our little guy had broke his
ACU behind his knee cap. What a major issue for a 8.5 lbs.
Guy! He went into surgery for the repair and did very
well. The first night was so sad, he was all doped up from
medications and could not walk and did not want to eat and
slept for almost a day and a half, just getting up for a
bit of water and potty. He is a true champ!
He was not a fan of taking his medication, and it was a
chore to get the pills swallowed, its funny in a way, that
he would know when it was pill time, in the morning and
night he would try to hide under the table to avoid the
pills and act like we could not find him. Then he would
some how find a way to hide the pills in his mouth, we
would have to check his mouth and the sides of his lips
for several minutes to make sure he swallowed them, ”very
tricky guy”.
He made a extremely quick recovery! Within a couple weeks,
he was using his leg again with care and wanting to play.
We could not let him get to excited to quick, and he has
allot of energy.
Within a month of surgery he has full use of his leg, and
he is able to jump back on the couch and run, other than
the hair that was shaved at the time of the surgery, you
would not have been able to tell that anything even
happened. The surgery was one that entailed the incision,
then going in and modifying the bone and drilling into
both sides (upper and lower) and attaching some kind of
nylon to create tendons and to keep his knee from rotating
abnormally. The surgeon was fantastic and knew his stuff!
We also have a friend that there mother makes Raggedy Ann
dolls, So she made one for our daughter that has not
arrived yet. It is made with Chinese characteristics and
has a dress made out of “children of the world” pattern.
After a bit, we were looking at the doll a bit more and
noticed that under the dress on the upper area there is a
red heart embroidered on it that says “I love you” and
right above that it has her name embroidered in black. It
is so precious, Thank so much Mrs. Otto, we will always
remember. And Mr. Otto would stuff the legs for his wife
for these dolls and this doll is one of the last dolls
that he had stuffed before his passing, that makes this
doll all that more special to us.
In August I sold my motorcycle and got full price, I am
happy about that! The kid I sold it to, got a great deal
though, it went as a package deal, he got both racing
jackets and helmets and the stock items from my upgrades.
He was smiling. The local transaction went well, seeing
that this was my first sale on Craig’s list. And now I got
more room in my garage, and gives me more room for when I
take down the Christmas decorations when the holidays get
here and I must say, we have quite a bit of Christmas
decorations, We love Christmas and we have so much to be
thankful for!
Also this month, I have been studying to take a EPA
certification and to get certified in a universal
refrigeration. It has been a number of years since I have
to study like this, I think I will do just fine. Its
fairly intense, you need to know molecules and how they
change and react with the stratosphere to the dates
certain laws were implemented to the recovery and repair
of all items that use refrigerants. You hear and know how
cfc’s effect us, but until you read the manual, it really
opens your eyes on how bad it can really be.
Well, I’ve taken my test, but it will be another 3 weeks
before I get my results. I guess that we cannot get the
test graded by the teacher, a third party has to do that,
it is federally mandated.
Good news, I passed and received my certification and
licensed in all three tech. classifications.
Passed with a 88%.
We have a new addition to our family, A baby Persian that
we named Zoe. Born on 7\8\07 and she is cute. She is a
smoke color and has adapted very well and using the litter
box on the very first day, “I like that.” |
