Why Taiwan?
When we started researching the
idea of adoption several years ago, we knew that we wanted to
adopt two children. Not long after we brought Cate home in 2006,
we started researching ways to bring another child into our
family.
We knew that the wait for adopting a child from China was
continually growing, so we researched other countries and
decided on Taiwan. Our agency, Heartsent Adoptions, offered
programs in several countries, but Taiwan felt like the right
decision for us.
During the summer of 2007 I started the adoption paperwork
process once again. Everything was finalized and to our agency
in October 2007. Now we just had to wait. At the time, we
thought wait would be around 8-12 months for our referral. As
you know these things always take longer that one would hope, so
it wasn’t until January 2009 that we received the call that a
precious little girl was looking for a forever family. After
looking over her information, we knew we had found our daughter.
