Samantha

On October 2nd we accepted the referral of a 4 week old baby girl named Samantha Sofia. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we lost this baby girl in late November as her birth mother has reclaimed her. We, of course, were crushed that this child will not be joining our family, but at the same time are empathetic with what must have been a heart wrenching decision her birth mother was faced with in early September. We were so preoccupied with the worries of changing Guatemalan adoption laws, that the chance the adoption would fall through because of the birth mother changing her mind, never once entered ours. We have faith and believe that all things happen for a reason. God just had different plans for sweet Samantha, for our family, and we trust in His wisdom. We’ll never forget little Samantha Sofia and we wish her a life full of happiness and peace with her mother in Guatemala !
