Oh....it feels so good to type this ! We are home with our little angel and we couldn't be happier ! Wendel and I left bright and early Tuesday the 15th for a 6 am flight out of Tri-Cities Airport in Blountville, Tennessee. We had a connecting flight out of Atlanta Georgia and arrived in Guatemala City around noon. Ella was brought to the Marriott around 3:30 pm and placed in our arms forever. It was the most bittersweet afternoon you could imagine. Ella's foster mother and two foster sister's brought her to the hotel and it was clear that they were so heartbroken to have to say goodbye to her. Ella sobbed for what seemed like an eternity when they left. It was heartbreaking.

On July 16th , we had our Embassy appointment early that morning and Ella was beginning to warm up to both of us. She would only let me hold her which made for some very sore arms by the end of the day but worth every aching muscle to just hold her!

On July 17th , we headed back to the Embassy where Ella was issued her visa to come to the USA ! After receiving her visa, we did some quick sight seeing in Guatemala City and learned so many interesting facts about Ella's birth country. Wendel and I then headed back to the hotel to pack up for our journey home.

Ella was a trooper on the flights home. She slept most of the way from Guatemala to Atlanta and then charmed the passengers on the flight from Atlanta to the Tri-Cities. We were so relieved that she traveled as well as she did.

The boys are in love with her ! They kiss her on her forehead every minute that she's awake and have helped me so much with her since we've been home. They just don't understand why she has to nap during the day ! When she wakes up, they race to her room and argue over who gets to take her out of her bed and hold her first ! She is definitely the boss of the household !

Ella is transitioning wonderfully to our family so far. She continues to still only let Mommy hold her, but will now let Daddy and her brother's hold her on their lap. She has just been the most joyous blessing to this family and it is truly amazing how much love we have for this precious child. Thank you to everyone for all of your support, prayers, and encouragement as we journeyed to this beautiful little girl. We will continue with monthly updates so stay tuned !!
