Today we visited the Guiyang Social Welfare Institute, which is where Faith spent the first month of her life. We found out today that she spent a month in the orphanage and then was put into foster care. The orphanage was very clean, and the children appear to be well cared for. There are over 400 children at this orphanage. We saw some of the kids today, they were all very happy children. We met the nanny who cared for Faith in the time she was there. We also saw where she slept. After touring, the director took us to Faith’s finding spot. A finding spot is where she was abandoned and found. It was in the fork of the road in a very busy part of town. Her mother had to know that she would be found by daybreak. She was found under a tree, wrapped in a white towel. No note was found with her. As we drove away from the place I squeezed Faith tight and whispered in her ear “Momma’s here now, baby girl”. Tears swelled in my eyes. I cannot image anyone ever abandoning something so pure, precious & sweet. But, then again, I don’t know her birth mother’s situation. I can only hope that she wanted what was best for her child, and that was another family.

After the orphanage visit we went shopping! However, we were both so tired from yesterday! :) We’re out of shape! LOL! Faith’s passport came today…which means we can leave Guiyang tomorrow!! We are glad to be going to Guangzhou to see the other families and their new additions. Also, it will be nice to see some more Americans!!! LOL! It wouldn’t be so bad if we spoke good Chinese, then we could carry on a conversation with people…it’s killing Matt!! LOL!! Pray for our safe and “peaceful” flight tomorrow! As you know it will be Faith’s first flight. A good practice for her 14 hr. flight home. !!

Love to all!

PS. Please bear with me, I’m trying to fix the problem with dropshots…don’t know what’s wrong. Maybe it will be working soon, keep checking.

B-Man and Lil Bit:

*It was so great to talk with you both this morning and sounds like you have got everything under control at Nana and Papa’s! Your voices are so sweet to our ears and encourage us everyday! We are so PROUD of both of you! Keep praying for us and Faith to have a safe journey.

B-Man> We went to a restaurant today that had trees in the middle of it. It was really cool and guess what we ate? Duck. It was really good. Tomorrow we get to fly on an airplane again! It will Baby Faith’s first plane ride. Keep Papa behaved and show him how you can hit a can with a BB gun! Oh, we got you a real dragon shirt today, but it is white with gold dragons on it. You will really like it and we will see if we can find a blue one also. We miss you bunches! WE LOVE YOU BUDDY!!

Lil Bit> Hey sweetie!! We miss you!!! I know you and Nana and Aunt Sherry have some great things planned to do! You keep them behaved. We went to a really great store shopping today and got you something very special. You will really like it! We will look for a pink plane tomorrow at the airport for you and will take a picture if we find it. Thanks for making us laugh this morning (last night for you) on the phone. You always make us laugh and encourage us. WE LOVE YOU “this much”!!! Beep-Beep, Honk-Honk

Devotion questions:
Get Nana or Papa to help you

I asked yesterday how did Noah got all those animals in the Ark? Well, he had to have a lot of help from God. God has and is in control over all things. We call that sovereign. Can God help us do anything? God prepared and protected Noah, just like He does us when we love Him with our whole heart.
