We have chosen
an adoption website not only as a keepsake for Gracie, but so
our friends and family who care about us can follow our long
and happy journey to our daughter and Alex’s little sister. As
many of you know we started our journey to Gracie one year ago
in October 2005. At that time the wait was approximately 6
months long. The wait is now approximately 14 months long. At
time it is frustrating for Tony and I to wait for Gracie, but
we know God has a plan for us and has chosen a baby for our
family. We know in time she will be here for all of us to hold
and to kiss. So many times I am asked how things are going and
what is taking so long. I appreciate your care and concern and
I hope by trying to explain the process you may understand a
little more.
Late last spring after much thought, research and prayer Tony
and I decided to adopt a baby girl from China. We contacted
our agency and begun the 4 month paper process. After all our
papers were complete and approved by the state, then the US
government it was sent to China where it was checked again and
approved by them. They gave us what is called a log in date
(LID); it was Feb. 14, 2006. The LID is basically our place
“in line”. After China has given us our LID they will then
process our papers through a matching room where someone goes
over them one more time to be sure they are complete. After
the matching room we will then be matched with our Gracie and
wait for a travel assignment (6-8 weeks later). If things
continue the way they are we hope to have Gracie by Alex’s
17th birthday, next July. I hope this helps answer questions
you may have.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We will keep you
updated. Please sign our guest book; we would love to hear
from you. -Tony, Tina and Alex (Gracie’s ge ge)
