We have been a forever family now for 1 year! It has been the
most incredible journey to watch our daughter grow from crying
for 5 solid hours until she fell asleep to running to the door
calling "Mommy, Mommy" or "Daddy, Daddy".
Every time I look into her deep brown eyes I see God. Only God
could have made such a perfect match. It is so incredible to
think just 1 year ago in China a little girl was lying in a crib
waiting for someone to love her and today she is the light of
our lives!
I remember my mom telling me how much she enjoyed me. Not that
she didn't love my siblings, but she was older when she adopted
me and knew just how quickly time goes by. I look at my daughter
and know what she must have seen when she looked at me, because
I feel that same way, pure joy, I feel so blessed with every
second of every day with her.
She has such an outgoing personality and gives the big fake
smile with the cute little princess wave everytime a stranger
looks at her. She loves her big brother, Alex and will drop
anything to give him a kiss. She thinks he is a giant toddler.
She speaks about 75 words, loves her dogs, the Wonder Pets and
Backyardigans. She is right on target for where she needs to be.
She not only has brought incredible joy to Tony, Alex and I, but
all who meet her. She is a big spirit in a little body. Tony and
I often say "what did we do before Gracie" she keeps us on our
toes and is very 2! I often look at her when I rock her to sleep
and think I can't believe I deserve to be her mom, she is so
precious and at her young age has a very caring heart. In church
on Sunday a little boy was crying and she grabbed my face with
both little hands and said "Oh no, he cry"
I thank God everyday for the gift of a wonderful family with
beautiful, healthy children. They are my true gift in life.
Please enjoy the pictures of our forever family.
