What a difference a year makes. When I was deciding what to post
for our one-year anniversary with Lilli, this phrase kept
popping in my head, as it’s so true. Lilli has come so far, and
so have we. We have all grown as individuals, as parents, and
most of all as a family. There have been some tough moments but
to see her happy, healthy, and bonded to us makes it all worth
it.
Sometimes, when we let ourselves take a break from the hustle
and bustle of life, we are in awe when we think of “Our Journey
to Lillianne”. Even though it has been a little over a year
since we became a family, it’s moments at the dinner table when
we look at her in amazement and think, “she’s really here”.
While we remember the long, hard wait that we had, it’s also
difficult to believe that she’s already been with us a year.
On May 17th, 2010, we celebrated, “Gotcha Day”, or as Lilli
said, “Gotchu Day”. We ordered in Chinese food and stayed close
to home. As we sat down, Lilli spontaneously raised her cup and
said, “Cheer’s—Happy Gotchu Day!” We gave her a book and a
Minnie Mouse balloon, which she loved. We are so blessed to have
Lilli as our daughter.
Instead of the usual long posts, we decided to reflect on the
Top Ten favorite moments and phrases in year one with Lilli.

on day one to spunky and full of life today, make us understand
the power of nurturing and love. Looking back on the year, we
have learned that it’s the little moments wrapped together that
make the beautiful gift we call life. Thank you to all our
family and friends who have provided us love and support
throughout the year. We hope you have enjoyed sharing in all of
our moments! |
