We have been happily married for almost 14 years. We are so happy to welcome Maggie into our world, she has lived in our hearts for years and now she will live in our home.

We started our paperwork to adopt from China in 2005, but by the time it was all complete we had a log in date of 3/9/06. That’s when the wait officially began. At first the time frame was 10 months from the time China received your paperwork. Over the years we watched the wait grow to 3 years, but we never gave up. Our hearts were in this for the long haul, and after seeing our daughter’s face on that Tuesday morning in April it became clear why, she is our girl, and she wasn’t ready until now.

We are still waiting for travel approval to go to China, which should be arriving any day now. Our families have been with us every step of the way, and we honestly feel that we could not have done this without their constant love, support and understanding. Seeing the joy on their faces when we got the call was almost as good as getting the call itself.

We are so lucky and blessed in ways we could not even begin to describe.
