HOORAY!
HOORAY!
OUR LAST DAY IN CHINA!
Yippie! Finally able to take our little girl home to meet her
extended family.
After last minute shopping and touring around the streets of
Guangzhou, we loaded the suitcases and carry-on bags, called the
bellhop and checked out of the White Swan Hotel. A quick shuttle
to the Guangzhou Train Station for what we thought was a "bullet
train" to Hong Kong... a little slower than a bullet, or even a
Schwinn, but nonetheless we were on the first leg of our
three-legged journey. After daddy finally stowed all the
carry-on baggage, stroller, baby bag and miscellaneous items and
we settled into seats, only to find out there was assigned
seating. So, again, loaded down with bags and baby, we found our
seats and relaxed in the heat for our ride to Hong Kong
Hustling and bustling Hong Kong... unfortunately, not enough
time to explore. Into another shuttle for a ride from the train
station to the Regal Airport Hotel. After checking in, we
explored the hotel, which was linked to the airport via an
indoor pedestrian walkway. A quick dinner and rest, we were up
and checked into our flight to Tokoyo.
Ah Tokoyo... we arrived in the rain... and our flight home was
delayed 5 1/2 hours! But that was OK. We explored the airport
and made friends with everyone in the first class lounge. After
buying Maggie a few treats and something for daddy in the duty
free shop, we were finally off for home.
The lovely stewardesses set-up a crib attached to the wall for
Maggie, who slept for almost 9 hours on the flight back. There
was no crying, only smiles and laughing. Thank heaven! We heard
other babies crying, but Maggie did great and Maeve was
wonderful with her.... The flight staff were very helpful and
even daddy helped a bit... |

Mommy and Maggie excited for the trip home

Maybe if I push this train will go faster
