What a wonderful Day!!!!
We were able to bring Zilya home to our apartment today. It was
a big day for her, leaving behind all that she has ever known.
We arrived at the baby house in the afternoon, December 29th
2006, to say our goodbye's and thanks to the caregivers. We went
upstairs to her room and she was waiting for us with a big smile
and a funny little squeal that she makes. We changed her clothes
and gave her to the caregiver one last time. Her caregiver
kissed her and held her tight, she told Zilya she will miss her
and that she wishes a good life for her. We went down stairs to
the head doctor's office and gave our gifts and said our
goodbye's. We bundled her up in her snowsuit and headed out the
door. AT LAST SHE IS OURS!!!
Zilya was tired about an hour after we brought her home, we gave
her a bottle and put her down for a nap. She slept for about 3
hours and woke up a bit startled. Later on we gave her a bath
and washed her hair, it smelled so much better. We don't think
she has ever been in a bathtub before, but it did not take her
long and she was loving it. She slept the night through till
6:00 a.m.
We have had so much fun with her and we can't wait for everyone
at home to meet her.
