Grace looks to have recovered completely now.

I will keep this post short and let you see Grace in her glory. Cheerios are a very big hit with her and she is addicted now. Grace is a mommy’s girl and only seldom lets daddy hold her how, will have to keep working on this. This is our last full day here.
Enjoy the photos, thanks for following our journey.

Sorry we haven’t posted, between slow internet and busy schedules it has been overwhelming. I will try to recap the past few days. Jan. 7th as you know, we bought formula for Grace’s orphanage. It was stressful on Grace as well as Dave since I was the one who went into the MANY stores to buy it while they sat in the van and waited. Then Jan 8th we went to Grace’s orphanage- her finding spot was 3 additional hours away and was to fare to travel. This was difficult on me; Grace was right at home and went to the children to share her Cheerios with them. All the nannies call themselves Mama. I found my heart battling with my brain. Here we were at the place Grace had spent her life, with people she knew and obviously loved. She went freely and happily to them. She laughed, walked and spoke! And I wanted to leave within minutes of arriving there. My mind coached my heart telling it that this is to be expected; that this was closure for Grace. It was also apparent that Grace was loved in return. These people were delighted to see their little “Hong Li” although I wanted to scream, “Her name is Grace!” The orphanage is clean and well maintained, despite that it is poor. The children do not share cribs which was good to hear; rather they were placed next to each other so that the babies can be close together. At the end, Grace returned to me with just a little of a fuss. Even though this was hard on me I believe it was well worth the pain. The nannies were able to see Grace one last time and that she was cared for. Grace got to hug and kiss those people who had invested their lives into hers. And Dave and I were able to see that she was indeed loved and had more of our questions about Grace answered.
