Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
- Joshua 1:9

Has it been a month already!? It is hard to believe, Grace has been a part of our lives now about 9 weeks and we have been home for around 5 weeks! Incredible!

So let me tell you how we have been doing. Grace is blooming into quit a character. She loves being the baby of this house. If one of us doesn’t give her satisfaction she just turns to the next available big person. We think Grace believes herself to be world famous. So many of our friends and acquaintances have been waiting along with us that everywhere we go there seems to be someone who knows her name and wishes to meet her. Grace is fitting into our family beautifully, although we have had some bonding issues between Grace and her older sister Nicole. We received some fantastic advice on “bonding games” to help Grace along. It has been slow for Nicole but is starting to show results as you can see on the drop shots. This may sound kind of funny but I think the best thing that happened to assist in the bonding issues was soon after we returned home Cecily and I became ill! Grace had to rely on David and Nicole to take care of her needs. Since that time things are going much better.

I know that many of you are concerned about Graces’ heart and the VSD repair that was done in China . I wish I had some news for you. I can tell you that at the last office visit, the doctor said that Grace doesn’t show any signs of a problem. We have an appointment for an EKG and hopefully more definitive news later. We did have a Developmental Evaluation the other day and the evaluators were impressed by Grace and how well she is advancing. Grace showed them that she was a smart cookie and could problem solve. We talked about some of my concerns. Grace’s eating habits and her problems with chewing. Some of my earlier concerns; things that I told them about early last month, with have simply disappeared. Grace’s gross motor skills are now within normal perimeters. We will return in May to see if Grace’s chewing has improved and if there is a connection with her speech. Ms Kim said that this is only a precaution and that she was delightfully surprised by Grace and believes her to be exceptional. That’s all I need, a genius! I can handle manipulative and charismatic. Which Grace certainly is! I can handle strong willed and stubborn. Again this is a good description of our little Sweet Pea. I can even handle temper tantrums in public places; One of Grace’s favorite activities. Been there, done that. After all I do have two older girls who have initiated me! That kind of stuff is right up my alley. But a GENIUS? Needless to say I am nervous. I’m just kidding; of course, I don’t expect Grace to be anything other than normal. But, of course, we believe that Grace is AMAZING!

Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in Him. (KJV)

Like so many other families have said; we cannot imagine our family without Grace. She has enriched our lives so very much, her antics and her discoveries. I absolutely love it when driving down the road she points to different objects and says “LOOK!” or how Grace dances or clowns around. How boring our lives were! Thank You LORD Jesus for this little gift called Grace!

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (NIV)
