“The name of the
LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
-Proverb 18:10
April was a whirlwind of activities. As crazy as the weather was
our lives were even crazier! It began peaceful enough then
quickly spiraled out of control. We enjoyed a cold but lovely
Easter. Grace loved hunting for eggs. She really loves hard
boiled eggs. Grace attacked her Easter Bunny with gusto!
Chocolate, a girl’s best friend! Chocolate and sugar ladened
sweets abounded for weeks afterward. Then I received news that
my mother (Denise) has breast cancer. The entire month took on a
new note. The girls and I traveled to Pennsylvania while Dave
stayed here to finish his college courses. Grace enjoyed meeting
her extended family.
For those of you who have been praying for my mom, thanks. Mom’s
surgery went well; the cancer was removed and now Mom is
undergoing radiation treatment and pill therapy. The doctors
expect good things.
We returned to NC May 4th. Grace traveled well; her favorite
pass-time is irritating Nicole, much to Cecily’s delight! Sweet
revenge! While we were up a Nana’s, Grace started to explode
with language! It is wonderful to hear her sweet little voice
parroting everything we say. No word escapes her notice. Now she
likes to point at things and ask “what’s that?” She also likes
to perform for the girls’ friends by making faces. When asked,
Grace will make “Angry Eyes”, “Happy Face”, “Surprised”,
“Afraid”, and everyone’s favorite “The Freeze”. Grace seems to
enjoy “Angry Eyes” and “The Freeze” the most, When she is asked
to make her happy face she says “Happy!” at the same time. I
love it! We are working on “Sad Face” – Grace can’t hold this
long and dissolves into giggles when she sticks out her bottom
lip. |
