Where to begin; so much has happened and we have had many scares these last few months- sorry for the long delay in updating. Denise’s mother had cancer and Denise might have had cancer too. We got Denise’s results yesterday- No cancer- God is good!

Here are the highlights-

*Grace turned 2 yrs on June 1st. We had two birthday celebrations; one- with family only and one with friends both times Grace flipped out during the Happy Birthday song. First party was at her favorite restaurant. She enjoys feeding the fish and the staff makes a big deal in holding her and playing with her. After eating the staff brought out a cake with candles, we drew a small crowd who wanted to see her picture book and ask questions. This happened on her birthday, Fri. 1st. Saturday we had a get together with several families at the local park. Grace enjoyed everything but the birthday song again.

*Grace discovered the swimming pool; she really enjoys watching her sisters go down the slide and high dive but cannot understand why she cannot follow along. She enjoys the water and splashing.

*She has a new chore- feeding our fish; Grace will wake up and run to her fish to indicate its time to feed them and at night the same thing. She knows how much to feed them and which food is morning and evening (different types of fish). This is a special Daddy daughter activity.

*4th of July was more than we could have hoped for. Grace loved the fire works but preferred the glow sticks. She had a great time and played with our friends’ kids until the fire works began. She bounced from person to person while viewing the fire works allowing everyone to experience with her the awe of seeing the bright colors and loud sounds. It was so special to share the special events we take for advantage to see them through her eyes.

*Time is moving along so fast now with Grace in our family; she is a blessing.

*Grace is high maintenance, would not have it any other way. She still gets worried and wants that reassurance we all love her; then her backbone kicks in- I is not doing what you want me to- Ms Attitude.

*Grace is a girlie girl- she loves to try on clothes, shoes and make up. She will scream until mommy puts make up on her. Grace will chase her sisters around to have them do her nails and hair. Nicole really enjoys this part of her sister. Grace is also a clean fanatic like her older sister and will constantly point out messes at the various shopping stores.

*She has become such an integral part of each day; puts a smile on each of our faces.

*It is nice having older children to help in raising Grace; Grace has a very strong bond with each of her sisters. Cecily and Nicole take a lot of time playing with Grace and letting her know she is loved beyond measure.

*Grace is mommy’s big helper, always ready to lend a hand even if you do not want it.

*She is a typical two year old who just happens to have been adopted. As parents, we raise her as if she was always been a part of our family. It certainly feels that way! It is difficult to remember what life was like without Grace a part of it.

John is on his way home now- his father is in China and will be returning this week. This little boy was Grace’s best friend in the orphanage. We took many photos when we visited the orphanage for Grace. She has been following along each day and is so happy now to point out her friend is no longer sad because his Dadden (her word for father) has him. We also have new pictures of Ming, who we pray; parents/friends will have him in next few weeks.

We hope these two families will also be our forever friends and our children will always have a tie that goes back to the first month after birth. Photos are in our dropshots at the top to the right Brea is doing so much better, God is moving in her life. We will be in prayer for our little sister.

*We make it a point to love on Grace each day and let her see us also being parents to our other children. We will wait a while before thinking of adoption again- we need the time the settle in as a family.
