Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." (NIV)

It hit me the other night- watching our daughter sleep so peacefully. How great is the love of our GOD to allow us to raise this precious little girl as our daughter. I did not adopt to save a child- I adopted a child to be my daughter. I feel sad for her birth parents for they gave up this precious girl and will never know her sweetness when she calls out mommy or daddy; such simple words that carry so much meaning for us.

Yes, she sleeps between my wife and I- the nightmares are rough on her. She wakes up scared and looks for us to comfort her. She will out grow this; for now I will put up with the knee in the back and the many bruises I receive so she can sleep through the night and know that the ones who love her are just in arms reach.

A synopsis of the last month- where to begin.

Start with great news- John is doing very well with his forever family and Brea will be moving next week close to us. Still waiting for TA for Ming and then the four roommates will have their forever families. We thought we would be traveling with each of these families but GOD had other plans.

Grace’s firsts this last month- she went to a concert and loved every minute of it (she enjoys hanging with her sisters). Warren Barfield and Praise Out Loud

We took her to the beach and covered her in sand. She was scared of the water but enjoyed playing in the sand and collecting seashells.

We also visited the aquarium while at Myrtle Beach but she was scared to touch the horseshoe crab and manta rays but did enjoy see the fish that were behind the glass.

Grace has started out growing her squeaky shoes, she has grown so much from day one and her hair is getting longer. Not as long as she wants it- her sister Nicole has long hair and Grace has been spotted trying to pull her hair and when questioned she points to Nicole’s hair, all in time. Our little girl is not so little any more. She has a good grasp of English and has a few words under her belt. What gets us is how she has mastered her expressions. She has the eye rolls down pat and the mean look; she is practicing her pitiful look for her grandparents. They are in trouble.

Grace enjoys swimming in our pool and can only handle a short time each day swimming. I hate swimming so I am all right with that.

She does not put up a fight when left at the nursery at church and enjoys playing with the other children there. This is a great step in trusting; she does not want an unfamiliar person touching her but does warm up quickly.

Please keep her in prayer this coming month for we are going up to visit family (she sees them as strangers and does not understand why they want to touch and hold her). We will travel at night to help with the 8 hours each way. She is fine with short trips but long ones are rough on her.

Thank you all for following along and helping on our journey.

We did feel all the prayers along the way and the numerous times GOD had his hand on us protecting and guiding us. Grace is loved beyond measure and enjoys being everybody’s baby (we have asked her if she wants to be our big girl, to this she says no- I am the baby).

Luke 18:16 “But Jesus called the children to him and said,” Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
