SICK!
Sorry this post will be lacking in quality, but I became very
sick in the afternoon. I had to cancel our Pearl River Boat
Cruise. I am not sure if it was from the heat or from the frozen
(iced) frappuccino I drank from Starbucks. I have a good feeling
it was my Starbuck drink and I am soooo not happy with them!
Normally I would NEVER order a drink here with ice in it. I just
wouldn’t take the chance because I do not know if they used
“good” water to make the ice. It was so so HOT out and I thought
I was going to melt to the pavement. I needed a cold drink. So,
I took my chances. UGH – I lost in that gamble. Quinn had some
of it and he seems fine thus far.
I started to feel wiped out on our taxi ride back to the hotel.
I just knew I wasn’t up to chasing Quinn on a boot for 2 hours.
This is an evening cruise so it gets dark and there are no life
jackets and plenty of places for him to climb. I will wait for
him to have his 1st (safe) boating experience with Papa and
Uncle Jim!
I became deathly ill almost immediately when we got to our room.
Quinn was tired so I put him down for a nap around 5:00. He
slept till this morning! What a GOOD boy! I spend the next 8
hours in the bathroom. I have a lot of meds with me and nothing
worked. I couldn’t even keep water down. I hope Quinn remains
healthy. I feel very worn out and every muscle/bone is aching.
We will take things slow today.
We have to head back to the island on Wednesday to pick up more
laundry I sent out. I also ordered Quinn personalized
chopsticks. They need to be picked up too. We only have 3 more
days left in Guangzhou and then we are off to Hong Kong!
Thanks to everyone who has signed Quinn’s guestbook. I look
forward to the day when he can truly appreciate all the
comments. Right now I am enjoying reading all of them and
feeling closer to home! Also, thanks to all for the many emails
of encouragement and HELP with the kids at home. I appreciate
each and every one of you. Even though this trip has been a real
struggle at least I know my kids at home are HAPPY! That means
the world to me right now.
