WE
MADE IT TO HONG KONG!
I am the HAPPIEST gal in town right now! Tomorrow is Quinn’s BIG
surprise. It’s funny how I can’t even remember all I have
endured over the last 2 weeks because we are in DISNEYLAND!!! I
hope Quinn will enjoy his day tomorrow and fall in love with the
place where dreams come true. I know I will NEVER hear the end
of this from my other children that Quinn and I went to Disney
without them. BUT – they have been to Disney World many times
without Quinn. This is a “one day” warm up for Quinn to prepare
him for his Disney crazy family!
Our train ride to Hong Kong went very smoothly. Quinn was a very
good boy. We only made one trip to the potty and I didn’t care
if he had to go again or not because we were NOT going back into
that restroom. Trying to help him over a squatty potty while the
train was in motion was a little too risky for me. I had a
pull-up on Quinn so I figured we would make it to the Hong Kong
station. He did make it with no accidents.
We got through immigration with no issues and then went to find
our luggage. A porter was waiting with our bags and asked me if
I needed help getting my bags outside. All I needed was a cart
and I could manage alone. This man was looking at me like I was
crazy and I really couldn’t figure out why. I went and got a
cart and started picking up my luggage – tossing it on the cart
(its heavy) – stacked it nicely – grabbed Quinn – and away we
went. The man looked over at another man and they started
laughing and smiled at me and waved me on. I think they were
impressed with my muscles! LOL I am getting a good workout here.
On our way to find our new guide, Helen, I was stopped by a man
who asked me if I needed a ride. He must have been a taxi
driver. I said no. He said (this was funny)…..then where are you
gonna go with all of that?! I nicely told him no again and kept
walking. This man kept it up. Now, Quinn starts shaking his
hands at the guy and YELLS – NO! Oh my – this little guy was
protecting his Mama. I had to refrain myself from cracking up
right there. I had to keep walking to get away from this man.
Quinn was mad. Mind you – Quinn doesn’t know any English so he
must have figured out the scenario by body language alone. Smart
boy!
As we pulled up to our hotel I noticed how “green” everything
was here in Hong Kong. Helen laughed – we were already on Disney
property and all the trees were imported! No wonder it felt like
home – I was surrounded by palm trees! Did I mention how HAPPY I
am today?
We checked into the Hollywood Hotel which is gorgeous. Boy, I
wish I was staying here longer so we could actually enjoy this
hotel. Quinn quickly found some hotel amenities and put them on.
I think he likes to be pampered. He is going to be a ladies’ man
for sure. I wonder if he had a mirror in the orphanage because
he absolutely LOVES to look at himself. Even in the chrome on
the tub!
Quinn was exhausted today. I think this was the latest he was
ever up. I finally tucked him in at 10:45. He had “bags” under
his eyes. As active as he is – he needs his sleep. He wears
himself out. I learn more and more about Quinn each day and
Quinn is definitely not a night owl. He is usually in bed by
8:00.
Goodnight from Hong Kong DISNEY! :)
