DISNEYLAND!

“Think, Believe, Dream, and Dare.”
~ Walt Disney Company

Today was full of Disney magic! It was HOTTER than HOT and I have no idea how so many people wore jeans and didn’t pass out. I had to lose some fat here over the last 2+ weeks in sweat alone. We took a rest and enjoyed Mickey ice cream pops, but they really were not refreshing. The humidity is unreal.

Hong Kong Disney is setup almost exactly like Disney World in Orlando. I didn’t even need a map! LOL Good thing because it was in Chinese. For the most part, Quinn did very well, but I know he is still so unsure of what is going on in his life right now. He has had his life completely turned upside down over the last two weeks. And I think I had it rough. We make a good pair right now.

As Quinn becomes more comfortable with me I can tell he has a ways to go emotionally and socially. He knows I am his Mama, but will go to anyone and want them to pick him up. He looks for attention from anyone. He is not attached to me (with “true” emotion) yet and that is going to take some time. I don’t think he ever had this much attention (LOVE) coming at him. He lived a very sheltered life for so long and he has made so much progress already.

Even though Quinn is almost 5 years old – that is just a number. Although he is very smart and independent he has some catching up to do. I have no doubt at all that he will catch up quickly. I hope when we arrive home everyone will realize that behind that beautiful smile is a scared little boy. He needs some pampering and I know there are MANY of you waiting to LOVE on our little man. Thank you!

Today at the park I was able to take him on a few rides. The lines were not too crowded (to me), but they were to Quinn. He wanted me to hold him in the lines. That was rough so we only did a few and then walked around and took lots of pictures. He LOVES pictures. I bought him a Buzz Lightyear camera. The highlight of our day was seeing Mickey and Minnie! That made our visit complete. After our Kodak moment with the famous couple it started to rain. This actually was perfect timing as Quinn was beyond tired and not cooperating in the stroller anymore. He needs his sleep or he is just wild.

His stroller is ready for the garbage. He has worn it out in 2 weeks flat! I see a Toys R Us shopping adventure happening this upcoming week for a “double” jogging stroller for Mommy and a 5-point harness for Quinn!

Tonight we went back to Chef Mickey’s! 2x in one day – what a treat! NOTE to Hubby: PLEASE have GOOD lettuce and tomatoes in the fridge when I get home. I am dying for a salad! :)

This will be our last post from China. Our flight leaves early tomorrow morning. We have a 4:00AM wake-up call. Quinn is sound asleep and I have to re-pack our luggage and create an emergency – entertainment – snack pack – carry-on! It is going to be a rough morning and a very LOOOONG day ahead. BUT we are going HOME and Quinn will FINALLY meet ALL of his FOREVER FAMILY! Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey and for all your loving support!
