Our Family

“With God’s power working in us, God can do much more than anything we can ask or imagine.” ~Ephesians 3:20 This is the very short story: we are Dan, Mona and Christopher (CJ) Dan and I have been married for 8 years, and CJ is 6 years old. We have been waiting for our new little one for nearly 4 years now. As many of you know, we started off in the traditional program, anticipating we would adopt a little girl. After it became apparent that the wait would extend even longer, we began praying about God’s direction for our family. He clearly and graciously opened our hearts to the special needs program. We spent time reviewing several files before our agency called and said, “We have a little boy, and you just have to say yes.” So cliché, but when we saw his picture we just knew. He literally took our breath away. We quickly but thoroughly checked out his medical condition and said YES, YES, YES!!! As we wait this next month, we pray for this little boy to be healthy, cared for, and to have a peace in his heart that he is loved. We also pray for his birth mother and family, who we hope will have the peace of God’s love, and a knowing that their child will be well-cared for and loved. Thank you to so many of you who have supported us and prayed for us this far in our journey. We joyfully anticipate the day that this tiny blessing is with our family forever. “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” ~Hebrews 11:1
