Can any of us believe that another year has flown by? Don’t we each remember being a small child and hearing adults say how fast we were growing up and thinking that they certainly were loony since time seemed to nearly stand still at Christmastime? And, yet, here we are….lamenting the speed at which are children are growing and marveling at the progress they make.

Our Christmas holiday has been full of happy family memories and lots of cold weather! We kicked off December with our annual Christmas Party on the 8th and haven’t stopped celebrating since. We tried really hard this year to keep the reason for the season alive and present in our presents to those we love. We felt the wonder of a babe born into the world to save our world. We rejoiced in knowing that His birth began His LIFE and that we are the recipients of the greatest gift ever given, His sacrifice of that life for us. We also celebrated and did family traditions like cookie decorating, game playing, gingerbread house making and lots of yummy food. We spent time with family and friends and just yesterday braved tubing on a cold and windy mountain.

Some big news is that Sarah’s open heart surgery has been moved up to this month. In fact, it will be on January 9th. We will need to travel to Portland for her surgery. Her oxygen saturation had been declining and we were set up with a home monitoring system and evaluated her at random times and her numbers were remaining low. It seems her heart is unable to keep up with the growth her body is experiencing and we are unable to wait until April to proceed. We are feeling anxious and, at times, overwhelmed but certainly place our faith in Heavenly Father that He knows our Sarah and that it is in His hands. We are grateful for a pediatric cardiology team that is top notch and fully capable to help our little angel. Please, if you are of the praying sort, pray for Sarah. Pray that she will make it through; pray that she will be able to trust that mom and dad are still right there by her. Pray that her doctors will be wise and prudent and that Sarah’s fighting spirit will prevail. We are so in love with this little girl. We are so thankful for her winning smile and brave heart. We are thankful that she is thriving with the love of a family. We are overjoyed at the love and patience she has brought to all of us.

We will update during the surgery as computer access allows. Thank you to all of you for your love and support. We need it so much and it strengthens us daily.

With love,

Until next week…………..

Brian and Anna
