January 9, 2008

We have lived through the longest nightmare of a morning and we get to come back and do it all over again tomorrow. Sarah’s surgeon just came out (he is a dear man) and broke the horrible news to us that Sarah’s surgery must wait until 7am tomorrow. The case they did before her had multiple complications and the PICU is full. She is not in critical condition and so they have moved her until tomorrow. I am reeling a little from the news. They had already delayed us for about 3 hours. Sarah has had nothing to eat today (unless you count 5 Cheerios as something) and it is now 2pm. It has been extremely stressful this morning…as I am sure you can imagine and I am certain Sarah is feeling it as well. We are heading to lunch just as soon as the Pediatric NP comes out to verify some information with us and to confirm the time for tomorrow. Please continue to pray for her as this is difficult on her…and us.

With love,

Brian and Anna
