Hi Everyone,
We arrived safely back to the U.S. on Wednesday (3/26)
after being on the go for 26 hours. We landed at 6:48
PM at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C.
We were so thankful that my parents offered to pick us
up at the airport to avoid a three hour layover in the
airport before we would have boarded the plane to
Philadelphia. We had a warm welcome from our great
neighbors Cari, Marcus, and Mason. They decorated our
house to welcome us home!
Sophia did great on the flight home. We were very
fortunate that the plane was not full and we had an
extra seat between Erik and myself for Sophia. She
played for the first few hours on the plane. She
looked at the magazines, ripped a napkin, ate some
snacks, and played with the tray in front of us.
Then, she slept for the next nine hours. The last few
hours we kept her occupied by playing with her. She
was a fabulous traveler!! I think the flight was much
harder on us than on her!
We made it home at 10:30 PM. Sophia played when we
got home. We put her to bed at 12:30 AM. She was
still on China time. She slept for two hours and woke
up crying. It was easy to put her back to bed with
just a pat on the back. However, two hours later she
woke up again crying. She was hungry so I fed her a
bottle. Her eating schedule was a little off. She
was so tired that she was having trouble falling
asleep so I laid with her on the floor and she
snuggles right against me and we both fell asleep
until 11:00 AM on Thursday morning (3/27) when Erik
woke us up. He told us Graham was on his way home!
That certainly got me moving! I couldn't wait to see
our "little man". He started eating solid foods while
we were gone so he grew quite a bit. I think he
weighs about the same as Sophia!!!
Sophia and Graham seem to like each other. She likes
to touch his hand or his head. She is very kind and
gentle with Graham. It is very heartwarming to see
how they interact with one another. She has had a
little trouble adjusting to Mommy or Daddy holding
Graham while he was drinking a bottle or getting his
diaper changed. She is a little jealous when Mommy or
Daddy hold Graham and she does not get all of the
attention. I guess that is what happens when you have
Mommy and Daddy all to yourself for ten days!
She loves to play with her Daddy and her new toys. I
think they have played with every toy we have in the
house. Erik has as much fun as Sophia playing with
all the toys! Sophia is having a tough time falling
asleep at night. She does not like to be in her crib
alone at night! She is sleeping at night only if she
is laying right next to one of us. The crib sits
empty next to our bed. We hope once she adjusts to
her new routine she will once again sleep in her crib.
Our "boys" came home on Friday (3/28) and met their
sister for the first time. They all seem to like each
other. Rocky especially likes when Sophia drops food
on the floor for him. The "boys" gave her lots of
kisses!
We will continue to update our site each month so you
can follow Sophia's Amazing Adventure at home! We
feel so blessed that she is apart of our family! Her
smile lights up our home in a way that we never knew
was possible! We love our Sophia!!! |
