We're Home

January 2008

I know that this post is long overdue, but our lives have been a little busier since we got home from China. Sophie has adjusted amazingly well and our lives are so different. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby who has bonded so well. She sleeps all night, rarely cries, eats well, smiles all the time, and has already caught up to where she should be developmentally. Her first birthday is January 16th and she is already walking all by herself, saying several words, pointing at everything, and has developed a wonderful bond with both of our families.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful, supportive families who can’t get enough of Sophie. We always have help and Sophie already loves them all so much. She has been a hit with all of our friends and co-workers and everyone wants to see her all the time. There is no way that we can thank everyone who has been so kind and supportive, but we do want to say a special thanks to everyone who prayed so much for our new family; we love you all.

God has truly blessed us more than we could have ever imagined. During the long wait, we always talked about how we knew God would give us the child we were supposed to have, but it was still so difficult. Now it is so evident that we were truly given the child we were always meant to have. Sophie is our daughter and I know that it was God’s plan for us to raise this child. We love Sophie so much and she is an amazing gift from God!
