Sunday, April 18, 2010 WE ARE HOME! This morning we boarded our flight to KC with much anticipation. The only thing dampening our spirits was the fact that Brian had come down with some sort of awful stomach flu and was not feeling well. Despite that, we had a wonderful airport welcoming committee consisting of 9 of our family members. It was great to finally have them meet Sophie, and she did very well with all the attention. I have posted a couple of pictures but will have more to share later! On the way home, she got to experience her first carseat, and as expected, it was not her favorite thing. When we arrived at home, our wonderful neighbors, the Lynds, had decorated our house with a welcome home sign and balloons. We settled down a bit with just mom, dad and brother Alex, then Kyle came home from KU later in the afternoon and met his sister for the first time. It was about that time that it became apparent that I too had contracted some sort of stomach flu, so we are both resting while Sophie sleeps, which will continue to be erratic due to jet lag, and trying to get better so we are up to the job of getting her settled in. “Having a place to go is home; Having someone to love is family; Having both is a blessing.” ~Donna Hodges
