Hopes and Prayers

Dear Meghan,
After anticipating your arrival and worrying about your
constant well-being for more than two years now, it seems
almost unreal that we will be able to hold you in our arms
in just a few days! We love you so much already that it is
difficult to imagine how much more our hearts will
overflow when we finally meet and have the opportunity to
nurture you and to watch you grow first hand! We are
excited and a little scared all at the same time! We have
asked our Heavenly Father to blanket you with his loving
protection so that you may be safe and healthy always. We
have asked Him for wisdom so that we may guide you and
teach you of His amazing grace. We have asked God for
strength so that we may be able to recognize your needs
and provide the comfort you need. And we have thanked God
for His call to adoption, for the arduous path we have
traveled to you, for His faithfulness, for His perfect
timing in blessing us with a third child, a precious
daughter, you!
As we prepare to welcome and embrace you, our thoughts are
filled with many hopes and dreams for the life you will
choose to lead. We want you to be courageous, respectful,
self-reliant, trustworthy, patient, humble, and kind. We
want you to live and to laugh, to give your best in all
you do, to stand up for what you believe, to experience
sweet successes and lasting friendships, to protect the
meek and helpless, and to never stop learning! We hope
that you will see the good in anyone and bring out the
best in everyone. We want you to understand unconditional
love, devotion, and faithfulness by observing the
relationship we share with Christ, with each other, and
with you and your brothers. And though we will make
mistakes throughout the years, we hope that you will
always know that we want only what is best for you. Even
in the instances when we won’t see “eye to eye,” we want
you to know that you can always count on our love,
concern, and support.
Above all else, Meghan, we pray that you, too, will
experience the joy of God’s awesome love through His gift
of salvation (John 3:16, I John 5:12-14), that you will
obey His commandments, that you will serve Him with
gladness, and that you will always remember to “Trust in
the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He
shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
With all our love, all our lives,
Daddy and Mommy
