“Traveling at such a slow
pace,
Do you think you can ever get there?”
A fast steed asked a lame turtle.
“Yes, as long as I keep going,” said the turtle.

We are grateful
to have this opportunity to share our adoption journey with you!
Welcoming a child into our home is a dream we have nestled in
our hearts for what feels like a lifetime. We truly believe that
God has chosen this path for us as the way to share our love
with a child. We are anxious, eager, and blessed as we prepare
for the journey of our lives!
We
made the decision to pursue adoption in January 2005. We spent
several months researching and educating ourselves about
adoption, and in April 2005, we were accepted into the China
Program with Children’s Hope International! Since that time, we
have busily paper-chased compiling a Dossier, a selection of
specific documents that best describe who we are as individuals,
a couple, and potentially a family. On November 21, 2005, David
and Tammy, an average couple (I mean a spectacular twosome!)
from a small town in Upstate, New York, were logged into Beijing
in the People’s Republic of China. The first step of our journey
was completed, and it was a night of celebration for us!
Since November, we have slowly moved through the BRIDGE OF LOVE
where our Dossier’s translation was verified. As of June 22,
2006, we were informed that our Dossier (one among hundreds),
which contains a lifetime of wishes, is currently in the REVIEW
ROOM! We pray that the People’s Republic of China blesses us
with one of her beautiful children. If they do, we will spend
the next few months waiting in the MATCHING ROOM where some
unknown angels will carefully select a family for one of their
precious children. Right now, families with Dossier Log in Dates
through June 28, 2005 have been matched and received their
referrals, so we still have a few months to go. If and when we
are matched, we will receive the long awaited REFERRAL with
pictures, an approximate date of birth, important health
information, and our daughter’s beautiful Chinese name. We’ll
travel to China six weeks after receiving our referral where we
will fly from Newark to Beijing, then the city where she is
located- where we will meet our daughter, and she will join us,
then Guangzhou in southern China to complete all of her
paperwork and FINALLY…we will fly home together as a new family!
It has been a twisted trail that has led us to this moment, and
we are looking forward to the day when we can share the unique
story of the creation of our family with our daughter-
Please check in with us often as this site will be updated!
Love,
Tammy and David |
