November 4, 2006

Since we last wrote, referrals have been issued for families with Log In Dates through August 25, 2005! On November 21, we will celebrate the one year anniversary for our own LID. Although the time has passed slowly, in many ways it’s unbelievable that an entire year has already passed! We know that we are in the home stretch now, and we are hopeful that we will be receiving our own referral sometime in the Spring!

With so much time on our hands and, we put our energies to good use and finally expanded the two bedrooms. We spent most of July and August working steadily on this project. This is where her bedroom will be located. Family, friends, and neighbors have generously offered their time, energy, and support to help prepare for her arrival.

THANK YOU!

YAHOO! The cement slab is poured and we’ve ripped off the siding. Two drills, several masonry bits, and a small fire later, Dave attached the rebar to the existing foundation.

Where once there was a wall... the room is going up quickly, and we are hopeful that the blue skies will persist. Our front yard has turned into quite the work zone. Now, if only we could all agree on the MUSIC to listen to. Our eclectic mix consists of Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Nelly Furtado, Chamillionaire, the Yankees, a little Steely Dan, and too much of Sugarloaf’s “Green Eyed Lady”. Someone lose the XM please!

We’ve got a roof! Good thing because the rains they are a poundin.’ Dave continued to put on the roof shingles under a blue tarp during the storm. Our roof looked like it had a blue elephant moving back and forth! Go Dave!

We, and I use that term loosely, finished the job so quickly, that we had time for a few side projects, such as …moving the UNEMPTIED shed to the other side of the yard. Everybody does this kind of stuff…right? The neighbors were quite entertained by the goings-on that night!

HEY! It’s Dave and the future Pappy up in the attic! Believe it or not, they’re actually working on the wireless internet, not construction…I think they sweat more over successful installation of the LINK SYS than leveling the window! I don’t know who is the bigger GEEK! (Just kidding...the window is PERFECT!)

The addition looks like it was always meant to be… Now that the cooler weather is approaching, we’re going to be working on the inside! Check back soon :)
