WE'RE HOME!
It is great to be home! We had a very long trip home on Saturday
with only one short flight delay on the final leg of our trip.
We were greeted at the airport with lots of friends and family.
It was an awesome homecoming for our new family of three!
We could not have asked for a better baby on the trip home. She
was an angel. Our longest flight was 11.5 hours. Tia only fussed
one time for a few minutes when she was ready for a bottle.
While it is very tight quarters and a lot of passing back and
forth between mommy and daddy, the time spent on the airplane
provided a good opportunity for bonding and closeness with our
sweet girl.
Our arrival at the airport was much anticipated by family and
friends who were anxious to meet Tia for the first time. Tia had
special ‘homecoming” outfit to wear – her nana made her a
beautiful patriotic (red, white & blue) poncho. We put that on
her before we left the plane. How fitting to celebrate our
newest American citizen! Stepping off the plane with Tia was a
wonderful feeling. Once we got inside the airport, Tia was very
curious about all the people waiting to meet her. She went to
people without hesitation and made an instant hit with everyone.
We are so proud of how she has adjusted to so many changes in
the last week and half of her little life. Our friends and
family had “comfort food” waiting on us at our home – such a
wonderful gift.
We are still adjusting to the time change ourselves and working
with Tia to adjust her sleeping schedule. She is doing well.
Yesterday we kept her up late in hopes that she would sleep
through the night. It worked! She slept until 7:30 am this
morning. She got up, ate and now is playing in her port-a-crib.
Thanks to everyone who has followed our journey of a lifetime.
It has been fun for us to share this wonderful gift from God
with so many. The guestbook entries have been such a blessing
also. Please continue to check our website, as we plan to update
it monthly. God Bless.
