It is hard to believe that we have already been home from China with precious Tia for a month. The last month has been filled with lots of fun and excitement. In one month we have celebrated Christmas, New Year’s and several family members’ birthdays.

Tia’s birthday was January 19. We have a precious one-year old! She has been sick so we are having her party on the 26th. She will celebrate with several friends and family members. We had a small celebration on the 19th with my sister’s family who live in Louisville, KY; as they had traveled a long way to be with her on this special occasion. Tia really enjoyed their visit and celebrating her special day with special people in her lift. Tia has had walking pneumonia and a respiratory virus. She was a sick little girl but is feeling much better now.

Tia is adjusting wonderfully to her new environment. She is such a happy and good baby. She is crawling everywhere and jabbering away. We know that she has a lot to say she just hasn’t formed it all into words yet. Tia has had a chance to meet many family and friends and has stolen hearts everywhere. She is eating very good (table food all the way). She has no interest in any type of baby food! She will try anything but prefers noodles, rice, chicken, fish and green beans. She hasn’t gained any weight yet but has definitely gotten taller. She is wearing 12 months clothing and is in the 90th percentile in height on the American charts. Her doctor said she would probably be over the 100th percentile on the Chinese growth charts! She has long fingers, hands and feet! I think she may be tall when she grows up!

I can’t believe how fast time flies by…..I am four weeks away from returning to work. Ben has been back to work for a few weeks already. We look back at the pictures from our trip and can hardly believe we have been to China and back already. Tia will go into daycare once I return to work. I know that she will do fine….I’m not sure how mommy and daddy will do!

I am posting some pictures from Christmas and others since we have been home. You will see how Tia has developed and changed already! Enjoy the pictures and revisit the site next month for another update! With Love, Ben, Carla & Tia.

We would like to give praise and thanksgiving to God for placing Tia in our hearts and lives. She is such a precious child who means everything to us! We also send prayers for families waiting to be united with their child. All children are a gift for God and it is a miracle each time God brings families together!

Happy girl - ready for Christmas!
