Our Family

ABOUT US

We are Terry and Diane. We have been married for 16 years and are blessed with four, soon to be five children. We feel so blessed that God chose us to be the parents to these wonderful kids. Our adoption journey started many years ago. God had been softening our hearts to adoption through a variety of different ways. Finally, in 2005 we stepped out in faith and began our paperwork. Soon into the process, we felt led to the China Special Needs program. In October 2005, we saw the face of our soon to be daughter, Tessa. One amazing part was that Tessa and our youngest son Trenton were only 7 weeks apart. We were going to have twins. The entire process was such a blessing. We are still amazed at how Tessa has blended into our family. We know that God planned her for us long before we had ever considered adoption.

After we returned home from China, Diane was constantly burdened with the children who were left behind. She was ready to go back immediately, but that was not God's plan. We needed some normalcy in our home for a while. Tessa had to face some difficult surgeries over the next few months. She has come so far. Then in the Fall of 2008, we decided the time was right. We started our paperwork for our youngest daughter - Tia. We cannot wait to bring her home.

Tia was part of the CCAA Shared Special Needs list of children. We share this with you to help encourage other families to consider special needs adoption. Tia's special need is a very minor heart issue. Our pediatrician feels the condition may have corrected itself before we bring her home. There are hundreds of children on this list, just waiting for a home and a forever family.

Now, a little bit about the family -

Taylor - 15

Tanner - 10

Tessa - 5

Trenton - 5
She is an amazing young woman. She has a gentle and quiet way about her. But she is also a lot of fun to be around and one of her mom's best friends. Taylor is a wonderful big sister and will set a great example for Tia. Our little gentleman. He is one of the sweetest young men. He is considerate and loving. Tanner is very patient and kind with his little brother and sister, even when they invade his room. He is really looking forward to Tia coming home soon. Our China Doll!!! Tessa came into our lives in March of 2006 from Nanning, Guangxi, China. She is independent and strong, but also cuddly and loving. She and Tia will have hours of fun together, playing dolls, hosting tea parties and terrorizing their brothers. Our baby BOY!!! As he reminds us quiet often, he is our baby BOY and Tia is our baby girl. We think he just wants to make sure he maintains his special place in our family. Trenton will be a wonderful big brother.
