Sorry for the delay in updating, but we have been very busy. Our
guides in Guangzhou are wonderful. We have had the opportunity
to visit the Chen Family Academy and the Guangzhou Zoo over the
past few days. The temperatures have been perfect for
sightseeing. Yesterday we saw a lot of people around the island
in thick, winter coats. It was only in the mid 60's. Boy would
they be surprised by a St Louis winter day.
One of the highlights for me yesterday was to get a close up
view of a panda. I love pandas, so this was a special treat. As
you can see from the picture, he has a pretty easy life.
We have made some very special friends on our trip. One family
is from North Carolina and their little boy Jamie is one month
older than Tia. Tia is crazy about him. She is constantly trying
to get his attention and to hold his hand while they are in
their strollers. I know, she is starting way too young. :)
Tia is constantly on the go. I believe she is the most active
child I have. When she is not sleeping, she is always on the
move. She is very inquisitive and likes to touch everything. She
is "helping" me type this update right now. So, if there are
spelling errors, I am blaming it on her.
Today is our consulate appointment. Our facilitators will go to
the consulate on our behalf to finalize our paperwork. We must
stay in our rooms until we receive the all clear from our
agency.
Tonight, we will take a river boat cruise on the Pearl River. I
remember this from our last trip. The lights of Guangzhou are
very beautiful. |
