Dear Jojo, Valerie & Mia, Congratulations on your family and this website - they are both labours of love and must be joys to you. Don't feel too bad about your wait being longer than you expected... it's obvious that you are using your time to become ever more well prepared. It might help to let you know that the USA (I presume that's where you live) are extrodinarily progressive and speedy in processing international adoption compared to other countries. My husband and I are also July DTC... however our wait has been very long. Our application for international adoption was lodged with the Australian authorities in March 2004. This however was just another step in a long process which began in March 2002 with an "Expression of Interest" application. There are no private agencies in Australia to manage international adoption - it is all done through government departments in a multi-step, tortuously slow and expensive ($10,000 so far) process. Don't dwell on your current wait - however long - it will be sometime this year. You will almost certainly have your new daughter in time for Christmas. Best wishes, Chris.

Hi Val, I know that I told Rachel that I would spend less time on the July DTC, but some day I feel drawn to it and other days I feel like I never want to back there. I Love your website! I just wanted you to know that I am kind of on pins and needles now... waiting to see your referral come in.. as I know it is getting close for you! You may not have the actual referral yet, but one thing is for sure.. Mylee has already been matched to you... the connection is already in place...she was from the day you placed your application for adoption... it's just that all the paperwork has not yet caught up with reality. I truly believe there is something very powerful and wonderful about the foreign adoption process, in that the moment you make your commitment and begin the long process of paperwork, approvals, etc... baby has in fact already connected up and matched with you, heart-2-heart. Jojo, Valorie, and Mia, I wish you and your Mylee all the best. I too am awaiting referral for our adoption of what could possibly be our "Maille" from China. Our LID was May 16th, 2006 and the wait seems to be never ending. I too thought that the wait for referral would be 6 to 7 months but obviously that is not going to be possible. I was surprised to see the name of your daughter as Mylee. I have considered this spelling for our Maille because my husbands middle name is Lee. I am curious as to how you came about the name. I have not see the name anywhere else. I lived in Hawaii for several years and that is how I have come about the name. Hello Again! Well, it was a couple of hours ago since I last signed on..now, I see that you have arrived and made it safely. I love the pics!..thanks for sharing. This trip is definitely a trip of a life time. I am glad that you two have the blessed opportunity to take it together. We are all so excited here! Well, your god-daughter decided that she did not want to attend her Ambassador meeting afterall, which is fine with me and Ant. She said that she did not want to be away from home for a long time. We figure, in a couple of years then maybe we can revisit the thought of her traveling to another country. Although she wants to visit Italy and Greece, she is still our baby and would be traveling as a 10 year old (summer of '07) which is a bit young. Jr. was 12 turning 13 when he traveled to Europe...and, letting him go was tough! So, we will not be attending the meeting at UC Davis today. Well, keep posting more pics. As I prepare for my "opening prayer" for my catechism class this evening (11/7/06), I came across this poem that seemed fit at this moment in all of our lives. Hi Val, JoJo and Mylee! Glad to see Mylee is feeling a little better. She is just the sweetest, cutest, darling baby. My two girls and I are visiting my grandmother in Pismo Beach until the 12th and then on our way back home. Today we spent the day at the beach, 80 degrees no wind and absolutely beautiful. We stood looking out at the ocean and thinking of you all just on the other side. Mylee~ When it's time to go off to college Cal Poly is a great University, close to the beach too oh and cute boys but mommy and daddy will have to talk to you about them. =) Anyway we went shopping and our first purchase was for you! So far I like you in lavender so we got you a cute beenie with Pismo Beach embroidered on it and a cute little onsie. Can't wait to see you sweet one. Smiles ~ Davey

We visted mia today and she was showing carina all her toys from her toy chest downstairs.....and I mean all of them! :0)))) they played really well together. She misses you guys and I know she will make a wonderful "big sister" she shared strawberries and whipped cream with carina. Then mia introduced gummy worms to carina (which by the way she now likes, and I will be sending uncle jo-jo her dental bill) Mia showed her her book that has the family pictures in it, and told us her little sister has one too. We are so glad to hear that mylee is feeling better, she sure looks like a happy baby. Your family can't wait to see her, that's all we talked about was mylee, mia and carina!! Hope your outing goes well tomorrow and can't wait to see new pictures. Hi Mali! Mylee is too cute! She looks like she's getting over her cold...her eyes don't show it as much. I'm glad the other day was a day of rest, because I think thats what Mylee needed in order to get over her cold. :) The countdown has officially begun...only 7 more days til Mylee gets home! Mali Val & Pire Jojo~ I LOVE the waterfall pic in your hotel...absolutely beautiful, um, but Mylee is more beauty-full! Yes, the countdown begins! The familias in Cali are all so anxious for your arrival back to the Mainland. Well, it is 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and we have a 9:45 birthday party at Country Club Lanes...yes, it is early! It is Jalen's birthday party. And, Jr. has a football brunch at 8:00a.m. So, I gotta get the Cross troop up. Btw, Jr's JV team beat Elk Grove last night, but unfortunately, Varsity lost! So, Elk Grove reigns once again with the Delta Championship. Jr. does start practicing with Varsity though on Monday for the play-offs. He, along, with 7 other JV players were moved up to Varsity for the Play-Offs. So, he is excited...heck, we all are. Hey, don't forget to get Jayden a lil Bruce Lee 'fit or something. :> Love love to you all and give Mylee lots of "chamorro kisses" from her nina, nino and cuzns and auntie remy, too! Yay, Finally....the long anticipated update and pictures! Mylee sure is a typical baby..doesn't like going to the doctors. The pics of all the babies are too precious! They are all beautiful! I posted a comment a few days ago telling you how much I enjoyed following your journey to Mylee. Upon trying to go to sleep tonight a thought came to me about a CD I thought you might be interested in. My friends who leave for China on Nov.29 to get their baby Dani have a made a Lullaby Cd for China's daughters and their adoptive families. Most of the songs have been written by Chuck and Lynette from their waiting for Dani. Anyway, it is the first of it's kind and is a beautiful collection of songs. They have a web site where you can view a short video and hear snippets of some of the songs.
