Well this is it, our last post from China. Today is the day.
We’ll be flying out of Guangzhou around 6:30 pm to Hong Kong
and then leaving Hong Kong around 9:55 pm to San Francisco. We
will be arriving in San Francisco at 6:00 pm (still on the
18th).
Yesterday the families had our swearing in at the US Consulate
where we received Mylee’s Visa and passport to take her home.
She will be a US citizen as soon we touch down in San
Francisco!
We had a farewell dinner with some of the families as everyone
is leaving at different times tomorrow. It was great to share
one last meal together.
Although we are very happy to be finally heading home to our
family and friends, it is with a bittersweet feeling that we
do so. We have come to truly care about our travel mates and
will miss our daily sharing of meals, touring and shopping. We
all share such a special bond and it is been a true pleasure
making this journey with them. Along with missing the group, I
am also feeling sadness as we are taking Mylee away from her
place of birth. The Chinese culture and people are wonderful
and we hope to be able to teach Mylee to be proud of her birth
country and its rich culture. We also hope to be able to teach
Mylee the joy and value of being a part of a large
multicultural family. China will always hold a special place
in our heart.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Joe & Jennifer for
the outstanding job that they do with this website (www.myadoptionwebsite.com).
We cannot thank you enough for the service that you provide
and for helping to make our journey accessible to our family
and friends. You two are the best!
A special thank you to the staff of Heartsent Adoptions
(Rachel, Mesha, Kimberly, Andrea, Val and Chris). Without you
we would never had the joy of being united with our precious
Mylee.
Thank you to our family and friends that have supported us
throughout this entire process. Your love and support have
meant the world to us and have kept us going even when we
thought it may never happen. We love you all and can’t wait
for you to meet our little blessing.
Thank you to those who have followed our Journey to Mylee. One
part of journey may be ending, but the best is yet to come…..
Jojo, Valorie, Mia & Mylee
