August Update
We’re still waiting….
In August, the CCAA matched children with the families whose
adoption applications were logged in by July 22, 2005. Our log
in date is July 25, 2005; so needless to say, we were
devastated when we weren’t matched this month. We thought for
sure that this would be the month that we would see our
precious baby’s face. We do not know what factors are causing
the delays but the extended wait has been very difficult for
all of us to bear. We can now pretty confidently say (it’s
hard to be confident about anything anymore) that we will be
matched with our daughter by the end of September.
We had a very busy month. We completed our final interview for
the homestudy process for Mimi. We still have some minor
paperwork and possibly one more legal hurdle to pass before we
are free to adopt her.
We spent most of the month visiting with our Virginia family.
Auntie Elaine and cousins Casey and Caitlin were here for the
first two weeks. Uncle Scott, Auntie Bobbie, and cousins Brody
and Brandi were here for the second and third weeks of the
month. We had fun going shopping, swimming, hanging out at
Funderland, and most of all, spending time together. We sure
do miss them and can’t wait until next summer when they get to
meet their newest cousin Mylee.
Mimi had her first and second experience at Build A Bear for
an early birthday present from Auntie Elaine and Auntie
Bobbie. I have a feeling we’ll be spending a lot of time there
from now on. Thanks you guys!
Papa Frank is feeling a little better. We received his test
results and he may not have to have surgery at this point.
Thank you for all of your prayers and good wishes for his
recovery.
We just want to thank you all again for your continued support
during this difficult wait. Your good wishes, prayers and
support are so appreciated.
