First, I want to apologize for not updating the site sooner. Being a mommy of 2 has kept me extremely busy and time seems to just fly by.

I can’t believe that it’s only been 2 months since we’ve been home with our precious Mylee. It feels like she’s been with us forever. The first month was rough with Mylee not adapting to the time change very well. She was going to sleep around 1am and then waking up at 4am to play! Needless to say we were exhausted and all got sick due to the chilling temperatures outside and lack of sleep. She is definitely sleeping better but still wakes up at least once a night for a bottle or just to be held. We joke that Mylee really wants us to feel like we have a newborn in the house. We would not have been able to make it through the first month if it wasn’t for our supportive family helping us through this challenging time.

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday celebrating with our family and friends. We are so thankful for all of the blessings that we have received and after the long wait, having Mylee home for Christmas truly made it a celebration and a time that we will never forget.

Mylee’s development continues to amaze us. She is now crawling all over the place and is attempting to walk. She is eating baby food and is starting to eat some table food as well. At her last doctor’s appointment she weighed in at 20lb 7oz! She has grown so much. She recognizes all of her family and squeals with delight whenever her Papa (grandpa) or Oohma (grandma) walk into a room. The special bond that she has formed with them truly touches my heart.

I’m often asked how Mimi is dealing with no longer being an only child and the center of attention. They really do get along very well. Mimi loves her new baby sister and Mylee’s face lights up whenever Mimi comes into the room. Mimi has definitely had her moments of jealousy but it is not so much that she is not getting enough attention from us; she’d rather just have her baby sister to herself.

I (Valorie) just started working again part time at the beginning of this week. I was dreading the idea leaving my precious girls but am content with the fact that they are receiving excellent care at home with papa and grandma. It has been a hard adjustment but I think working part time will be a good balance for me and will help make me a better mommy.

During our long journey to Mylee we had our doubts that it was ever going to happen and I can honestly say that the pain of the long wait really did melt away once I saw her face and held her in my arms. Don’t get me wrong, when I think back to that time, I can still feel a hint of pain that we went through but she truly is worth every ounce of it. We could not have asked for a more perfect child to fit in with our family. We are truly blessed and honored to be her parents.

Our next update will include pictures of Mylee’s upcoming 1st birthday and christening. We hope you continue to follow our journey and sign our guestbook. We love to hear from you all.

Jojo, Valorie, Mimi & Mylee
