We went to the Great Wall of China today and there is only one
word to describe it: AMAZING!
Tom actually climbed all the way to the top with some of our
friends. I made it ¾ of the way up, but decided that I needed to
save my energy for the big day tomorrow (truth be told, I
wouldn’t have made it to the top!)
We will try to post some pictures, but we are having technical
difficulties due to the language barrier on the computers at the
hotel. I don’t think the pictures can even convey how amazing
the Great Wall of China is.
We also went to a jade factory today and got a few things for
Zoe. Jade is a very special part of the Chinese culture, so we
wanted to make sure we got some jade for her.
We flew to the Hunan Province today and checked into a new
hotel. It is absolutely beautiful! The best part: we walked into
our room and there was a baby crib! It was really quite a
moment! We go to meet Zoe tomorrow at 10:30. We are both nervous
and excited. This whole experience is surreal! Luckily we are
sharing the experience with 10 other families who are also
finding it to be surreal.
There is one gentleman with us who is adopting his third child
from China. He said today that he was getting nervous, which of
course made me nervous because I was hoping he would be the calm
one! There is another couple who are adopting their second child
and they seem very calm about the whole thing. They have been
very helpful!
We LOVE getting messages in the Guest Book. It is our only
connection to home right now so please let us know when you
visit. The highlight of our day is checking our guestbook
(although I suspect that the highlight tomorrow will be meeting
Zoe)
I’m off to try to upload some pictures of our day!! Stay tuned
tomorrow as I’m sure I’ll find a way to upload pictures of the
baby! |
