Hello Everyone,
Well I’ve finally uploaded some good pictures. I put some
pictures from the past few days along with some
pictures from the
Orphanage.
As many of you know, we sent a disposable camera, a baby
blanket, pictures of us and a teddy bear over to Zoe. We were
very fortunate to get the camera back with some of these
pictures. It appears to be a really clean, colorful orphanage.
In the picture with her in her crib, you can see the blanket and
the teddy bear in the background so we know she got the stuff!
We didn’t get those back, but we brought an identical set with
us so she has that same blanket and teddy bear in her crib at
the hotel (but her linens are much nicer at the hotel!)
I’m continuing to recover. The doctor wants me to rest more
because we have a very long day on Wednesday flying home. I had
a little relapse of my fever, nothing like before, but I’m going
to take it easy. We LOVE it hear in Guangzhou!! It is much more
fun than Changsha. There is lots to do and it really caters to
adopting families. The shopping is incredible (I think Tom might
have told the Dr. to tell me to rest because I have already
purchased a ton of stuff for Zoe) There are restaurants that
serve grilled cheese sandwiches (which is what I’ve been
craving!) and it is very balmy weather.
This little section we are staying on is an island and is kind
of like Disneyworld for adoptive parents. There is a riverwalk,
boat cruises, laser shows, etc. There is even a 7 eleven across
the street where I get my Gatorade (which I’ve been drinking
like crazy)
Zoe continues to do well. Tom can really get her laughing which
is so much fun to watch. Rose, our guide, commented that she
thinks Zoe has gained weight since Monday and that she is
filling out. She weighed in at 7.2 kg (about 16 lbs) which
surprised us because she actually is fitting in 3-6 mos clothes.
However, with the way the kid eats, we will have her in 9 mos
clothes before we arrive home Wednesday evening (which we are
really, really looking forward to!)
Tomorrow is the big day at the American Consulate where we get
Zoe’s Visa and she is officially ours to bring into the USA.
Very exciting!
We absolutely love reading everyone’s comments! We are sorry our
pets are being such high maintenance pets (although I have to
admit I do get a chuckle out of the stories!) If you think our
pets our high maintenance, wait until you meet little Zoe Li
(although she is high maintenance in a good way!)
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon! Keep the guestbook
entries coming! It is keeping us going!
