GREETINGS FROM GUANGZHOU!
We arrived yesterday after 26+ hours
in route. On 23 November 2012 at 2030, after our family dinner
at Cynthia’s house, we departed Washington Township NJ. We
arrived at JFK around 2000 Saturday for our 0030 Sunday flight
to Seoul Korea. We wanted a bulkhead seat so we played the
“expected parents” card and the ticket agent obliged us. See,
Mei-Li is paying off already! We landed in Seoul Korea at 0500
on Sunday 25 November 2012. During our stay Joy, with no
comprehension for the exchange rate, bought $54.00 USD worth of
Macadamia nuts for snacks! She is now banned from buying
anything on this trip :).
After a 4 hour layover and eating all the lemon cookies Debbie
gave us, we departed for Guangzhou, China. We landed Guangzhou
China at 1200 (1100 EST Saturday). We had good flights, no
issues. Korean Air is definitely the way to travel to China.
Plenty of legroom, friendly flight crew and ON TIME!
Michelle, (the adoption coordinator’s wife) met us at the
airport and took us directly to the Victory Hotel. We unpacked
(maple syrup arrived intact J ) and re-arranged the hotel room
to give Mei-Li more room to play. We also visited the hotel
work-out room and children play room. Michael, (the adoption
coordinator) came to the hotel around 1700 to review our
paperwork and give us a tentative schedule. We went to the local
7-11, (yes 7-11 in China however there was not a foreigner
behind the counter, so I guess that was strange lol) and bought
water, pretzels and lollypops for Mei-Li.
Tomorrow is Mei-Li Xiurong Procaccio’s Day, (Gotcha Day) and our
first meeting is scheduled for 1400 at the Civil Affairs Office.
We will pick up Mei-Li and bring her back to the hotel….more to
follow!

us rejoice and be glad in it!” ~Psalm 118:24 |
