DAY 10 WITH OUR DAUGHTER (LAST FULL DAY IN CHINA)
We had a great day getting ready for our 24+ hour journey back
to NY/NJ. Mei-Li started the day with smiles and ended the day
smiling and exhausted. Again our morning routine when off
without any problems. Since the rain stopped for most of the
day, we were able to get Mei-Li outside for major of her
playtime. Mommy and Daddy are happy as we were able to achieve
our goal of getting Mei-Li outside in the fresh air as much as
possible. She loves getting outside.
The big news from this today is that Mei-Li:
(1) Took her morning bottle from Daddy;
(2) She’s back to sitting in her hit chair for breakfast;
(3) Took her night feeding from Daddy and
(4) Took a bath with Mommy without crying. She loves playing in
the water! Thank God!
Every day she is gets more comfortable and shows more affection
with us. We have been truly blessed by God during this
transition. We want to thank everyone for your prayers and
support. We give praises to God for all he has done! We look
with expectation in what God’s plan for us. His plan will always
be successful.
We are a little sad to say Goodbye to our daughter’s birth
country however this emotion quickly diminishes as we are
excited about her new life ahead as a US citizen and a Procaccio
Family member.
Hurrah! As soon as we land in New York, we will bounce her butt
onto the tar-mat and then she will officially be a U.S. citizen.
We do have one more parenting lesson from China and it came as
we began to pack! It’s an eye opening event to travel with a
little one! Wow, all the “stuff” that comes with a little
package is truly amazing.
(20) PACK LIGHTER!!
Mommy and Daddy must to learn how to pack lighter – Mei-Li’s
travel requirements have taken over. It’s unbelievable how much
baggage comes with one little 11kg (22 pound) child! We had to
buy another piece of luggage.
Please keep us in prayer as we begin our long journey back to
the states. We are concerned about her ears and just how this
wiggly-worm will behave on this long trip. Daddy loaded up the
iPad with interactive programs and we have snacks, diapers,
wipes and toys. What is the worst thing that could happen? Daddy
says what can they do? Kick us off the flight?:).
Tomorrow’s schedule for coming home:
0800 We are meeting Naomi’s family for good-bye breakfast.
0915 Mommy and Mei-Li will take one last 30 minute walk outside.
1000 Michael will arrive to take us to the airport.
1310 (1:10pm) Flight is scheduled to depart Guangzhou for Seoul.
1700 We arrive in Seoul Korea. We have a two hour layover. This
is just enough time for Mei-Li to play before her dinner. We saw
a wonderful indoor playground at Seoul’s airport when we were
coming over. We commented this would be great for Mei-Li on the
return trip!
1930 Our Flight departs Seoul and we landed in NY at 1910. Our
landing time is earlier than our departure time from Seoul. As
my niece stated, we get to travel in time.
We will finally arrive home in NJ about 2200J so tomorrow’s post
will be delayed or ahead of schedule? How does that work when
you arrive before you depart? I am confused. I am sure the 24+
travel with a two year old will sober me right up and put me on
track…ahhh!
Daddy is praying the following scripture verse for our “travel
plans.”
“For I know the (travel) plans I have
for you, (travel) plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
(travel) plans to give you a (sleepy baby) hope and a future.”
