GOTCHA DAY!

SURPRISE!!

This is, unfortunately, going to have to be short and sweet, we will backtrack and post more details of our trip so far when we have had time to stop and take a breath!

Needless to say we are here and all is well, praise God! We have definitely felt your prayers, so thank you for covering us, this trip and sweet Cole in your prayers. Our plane landed in Nanchang tonight at 8:00PM and it was our plan to spend the evening getting caught up on the updates and preparing for 'gotcha' day tomorrow. But when we arrived and met our guide at the airport, we were surprised to learn that we would be meeting Cole as soon as we arrived at our hotel. Andrea was so nervous and excited, even for me it all felt surreal, I cannot imagine all the thoughts that were going through her head!

Once at the hotel we had a few minutes to get the camera and a few toys unpacked before the handsome little man arrived. In he marched, holding the hand of one of the caregivers from New Day (an absolutely amazing facility that we had the privilege of visiting today, more on that in another post) with all the confidence and presence of a rock star. Andrea knelt down and revealed her little backpack of toys (trains, cars and of course, a lollipop or two) and Cole burst into the most handsome grin... what a precious site! Cole's foster mother had told us that he is not shy and she was absolutely right. He soaked up all the attention, loving every minute of it and soon was running around the lobby of the hotel, giggling and shrieking with delight as Andrea was hot on his heels 'chasing' after him.

He fussed for a moment or two when his caregiver left, but has been a bundle of energy and smiles since we came up to the room. Nothing is safe from the curiosity of this little one! His favorites so far are flushing the potty, playing with water (read: trying to do whatever it takes to force the water out of his sippy cup), stacking cups and snuggling his new tiger backpack. It's almost midnight right now, with no fizzle in his energy yet, so we're going to have to call it a night and get this update wrapped up so we can all hit the sack. More to follow, much more :)
