It is
official….I am ready to come home. I am missing my boy an
awful lot….and I am missing cereal and milk for breakfast.
Yes, cream puffs for breakfast are a nice substitute but
really ready to go back to “normal” life. Thankfully we
did not HAVE to be anywhere this am so the two kids could
sleep – that being EmmeClaire and Daddy. Mommy has
actually slept more “normal” amounts in the last two days
than the last 10 days – then again normal for her is still
not a lot!
Since EmmeClaire got up so late, we did not make it down
to breakfast early enough to get a banana – bummer.
Another thing Mama is missing – bananas, apples, grapes,
etc. There is LOTS of watermelon though!
We decided to head out to do a “little” shopping.
Again…accepting donations. We found some great things for
EmmeClaire’s future milestones. It would be easy to come
up with one for each year but since her brother’s pickings
were slim from Kazakhstan, trying to keep it under
control. We made lots of friends…yes, I know they are
trying to sell their items, and some are quite good at it,
but some of the people we talked to seem really interested
in finding out things about the US and the process that it
took to get here…..one guy just stood there with his mouth
hanging open when we told him it was a 6 year wait for us.
We were amazed at the number of “photo shoots” going on
around the area as we walked around. Apparently a lot of
China based magazines do photo shoots on the island, and
really it is not surprising with the amazing surroundings.
The models are wearing some very interesting outfits. It
is really nice to be able to get out and walk around in
fresh air. There are lots of trees and definitely more
like a “vacation” feel to the island.
We stopped and got some noodles for noodle girl for her
lunch. Once her belly was full she was ready for bed. Of
course she finally fell asleep right before we were to
leave with our group for a trip to the museum. We opted to
stay back rather than wake her up. And Daddy decided to
stay in the room so Mama could go run on the treadmill!
Yeeehaw! Worked off my Haegen Das from last night….well,
probably not but made me feel better.
Once EmmeClaire woke up we were all headed to Lucy’s for
dinner again. I will be the first to admit, I rarely meet
a French fry I do not like BUT….I am OVER them. I feel
“safe” eating them so I do…everywhere.
On the way to Lucy’s we were laughing as there was an arts
and craft show in the middle of the island so we walked
through it. Well at the end there was a guy singing on
stage….singing Stand By Me….in English. We offered to let
Jim sing back up….no luck.
So after dinner we picked up a few things from one of the
stores that has become our buddy and headed home.
EmmeClaire is FINALLY asleep. When I started typing this
she was still making faces and giggling through the slats
of the bed at me but she has found her thumb and is headed
to night night. She is not going to be happy in the
morning when she finds out how early she has to get
up…..luckily her hair does not take long to do at this
point. We have to be in the lobby at 7:30 AM to get on the
bus for our appointment at the US Consulate….our LAST
required “activity”….and then smooth sailing till
Wednesday AM. Can’t believe we are almost ready to pack to
go home!
Adam: So glad we got to talk to you TWICE in one
day….well, to us one day. Only a few more days and we will
finally be home!! Hope you have a great day at the pool!
We can’t wait to see you. EmmeClaire is looking forward to
meeting her GeGe on Wednesday! XOXOX
