We had a much happier Kaden today. He woke up ready and rearing to go. He loves when Daddy swings him and throws him up in the air...so we included an action shot (a little blurry). He also learned how to do a headstand into a sorta somersault (but doesn't realize it's not a good idea to do it on the tile). He is all boy! He just cracks up when he falls or bumps into something. I can't imagine how often we're going to be visiting the ER in his lifetime.

Today was raining pretty hard and was very cold. We were supposed to go to the zoo today, but because of the bad weather, our guide took us to a fantastic museum instead. We saw some of the most amazing art forms...one man was painting the most intricate paintings with just his hands and fingers, no brushes. There were wood carvings and unbelievable bone carvings...fans that were woven out of plant material, silk embroidery and ceramics. It was just a really nice peek into the Chinese culture and their art heritage. The patience and skill that these people have is beyond anything we've ever seen.

Kaden did fabulous today. We walked around all morning and well past his nap time and he had no meltdowns! We even got to eat lunch in a restaurant...something we have tried several times with him and failed miserably each time.

Tonight we introduced him to his toothbrush. The orphanage had told us that they hadn't started brushing his teeth yet. Coming from a family of dentists, I knew we better get started or I'd be in trouble. Daddy sat in front of him and demonstrated with his own toothbrush. He actually thought it was kind of fun and just wiggled and giggled when I did it. You never know with him.

As we're writing this right now, Kaden is in his crib and we're trying to get him to go to sleep. He's just lying there messing around and making noises. And then for the first time ever, he called out to us, clear as day and said "Ba Ba... Ma ma". "Ba ba" means Daddy in Mandarin (this is what we've been calling Jason the whole time because that's what the orphanage was calling him when showing Kaden our pictures we had sent to him. Both of us almost flew off our seats in excitement...it's amazing how such a little thing can make you feel so good.

Ready...set...SWING!

Is this a good idea?
