Today, we made it official. Louisa Cate Fanglin is
our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin. We
returned to the CCAA office in Hefei to meet with officials
and sign the paperwork to finalize the adoption. We had an
interview with a CCAA official, Ms. Fu, to properly express
our intentions and had all the necessary paperwork notarized
with a Chinese official.
Louisa is feeling a little better today, her fever has
broken but she is still congested. Dennis, our CHI
coordinator, has given us some Chinese medicine to relieve
her congestion. The medicine does not smell very good and by
the look on Louisa’s face when she took the dosage, I don’t
think it tastes very good either. Makes you appreciated good
old berry flavored Tylenol.
Louisa took her first bottle of formula today and also ate
lots of congee for dinner. Congee is a Chinese rice porridge
or soup that is often feed to children. If anyone is
interested in making congee, it is 1 part rice, 5 parts
water and you boil for 25-30 minutes. Many times the congee
is flavored with fish, pork, egg or chicken.
Louisa loves to play with the Tinkerbell beach ball and her
“Who loves baby” photo album. She really likes when Avery
plays with her. She loves her big sister. She can pull
herself up to stand without any help and has taken a few
steps on her own. She likes to hold our fingers and walk
around the room.
We cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings. |
Ferris Bueller, eat your heart out.
Looking for some clothes.
Louisa and Avery love the Tinkerbell beach ball. |
