About Gemma

"I will not leave you orphans.
I will come to you." ~John 14:18

We saw her face for the first time on the waiting child list at the end of July 2009. Six weeks later we went to committee and found out we were matched with her. Then the paper chase began.

What we know about our daughter….

Chinese name
Bai Jie Ya

Birthdate
February 7th, 2001

She resides in
Guangdong Province, Guangzhou City and is currently in foster care via Guangzhou City Social Welfare Institute.

Bai Jieya, female, on Feb.12 2001, was abandoned, found near the Nanfang Hospital by common people and called police. The Tonghe police station of Baiyun District tried to find her birth parents or families

Since her birth parents or families could not be found, she was brought to Guangzhou City Social Welfare Institute to be raised on the same day. When she was brought there, she was dressed in white floristic coat and wrapped in a red blanket.

According to her development, the working staff decided her DOB was Feb.7 2001. She was named Bai Jieya.

We received this update
about Gemma:

Bai Jieya is currently living in a foster family since she was 2 years old and is in 3rd grade student. She is conscious of her studies and can basically progress along with her class. Her math scores are excellent and her language scores are good. She likes music and dancing and energetically joins her school’s activities.

In terms of daily life, she is basically independent and volunteers to help “Mom” with household duties such as sweeping the floors, cleaning the tables, and making the beds. Her favorite food is chocolate, but because it is bad for your teeth, she pays attention to how much she eats.

Bai Jieya is a young woman who certainly understands what is going on around her.
