“Just think, you’re not here by chance, but by God's choosing. His hand formed you, He made you the person you are. He compares you to no one else –you’re one of a kind. You lack nothing His grace can't give you. He has allowed you to be here at this time in history to fulfill His special purpose for this generation.” ~ Roy Lessin

We Made It To Guangzhou…

Hi Everyone,

This will be super quick…enjoy the pictures!

Lucas was very excited about his first flight. He lit up at the sight of the airplanes as we looked through his airport book this morning. That excitement and joy carried over to watching the planes come in and to the start of his flight. Unfortunately that first flight didn’t start until after 11:00 p.m. due to rain delays and more rain delays and even more rain delays.

All looked well when we arrived at the airport…minimal flight delays, short lines to check in and at security, etc. When we got to the gate everything still looked good to go, but that changed and the ongoing delay began. Eight hours after we arrived at our gate they finally opened it. It is safe to say that people were getting hostile in the last hour. The airport was crazy as just about every flight was delayed. I would estimate about 100 flights were grounded for weather delays based on the departure notice boards. Hangzhou International Airport has quite a few flights :) Anyway, it took about an hour to get on the flight even then…flight of about 2 hours…get our bags…drive to hotel…check in…enter our room at 3:10 a.m. YUCK! And we have to be out the door for breakfast before the required medical appointment at 10:00. It will be a short night.

I must say that Lucas was a champ of a traveler. He people watched and airplane watched for several hours before he got squirmy. I then pulled out my laptop and he watched “Cars” and half of “Smurfs” before the battery died. Add a dinner break and we made it through the delay relatively painless. Not bad considering what that first airplane adventure looked like for him.

Safe & Ready For Bed,
Brandy, Jonathan & Lucas
