Greetings from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province! As I type we are one
sleep away from meeting Miss Emme Jade!!! We will transfer to
the hotel where we will stay with her for our week here later
today. When we see her crib in our room it is going to start
feeling very real!!
We were blessed with a great travel day on Thursday. Our flights
to Tokyo and Shanghai were on schedule and un-eventful. Once
again, Ainsley proved herself to be the “Rock Star Traveler”
that she is. When we were in the MSP airport, one of the Delta
employees asked her why she was going to China? With a big smile
on her face she said, “to pick up my little sister!” I have a
feeling Emme is going to love her Jie Jie
Right before our departure to Shanghai we learned “Typhoon Mufia”
was predicted for the next night. We made a quick decision on
Saturday morning to exit Shanghai to avoid any delays for “Emme
Jade” day.
We took the high-speed train to Nanjing without issue! It is a
great way to travel here. We are now at the beautiful new Westin
Hotel in the city until tomorrow. It’s 2am here and I am
wide-awake!
We spent our first day in Nanjing at the beautiful Xuan Wu Lake
Park.
Like our day in Changsha before we met Sienna, I was in my happy
place taking pictures of the daily life of the city. As
expected, the three of us got plenty of stares and head-turns.
We rented a small boat for an hour and cruised around the lake.
It was beautiful! We are hoping for one more day of exploring
tomorrow before we meet our guide.
We want to close with a big thank you to The “K” family for
taking care of Sienna and Ruby! It sounds like they had a
wonderful time. Early Saturday morning they met up with their
personal escort, and Mom, for the next two weeks, Jill! By now
they should be safely in AZ. My guess is they are going to be
too busy to Skype with us!!
Thank you for your prayers for our family as we made our way to
our multiple destinations this week. God definitely went before
us!
I am also posting some pictures over at
my blog as long as my
VPN connection is working!
More soon from the traveling Trio in Nanjing!
Blessings,
