Forgive the late posting about our first full day in Guangzhou! We got back to the room late last night!

Our first day in Guangzhou went well! Emme continues to amaze us at the way she is transitioning into her new world with us. She seems to be quite happy in her new surroundings at The Garden! She is a deep sleeper, so once she is down we don’t hear a peep until morning! Praise God! She was even quite happy to take a nap yesterday. Like I said before, we are trying hard to keep her on a routine here.

We started out our day by meeting all of our group for the children’s medical exam’s on the island in Guangzhou.. There are seven families total in our group. We even have a five-month old baby girl! All of the children are precious, and they are doing well. We entered that old familiar building with the kids around 10:30. Memories of walking in with Sienna were definitely on my mind. I still can’t believe what she had to endure that day. We are thankful that God used Sienna’s story to help get the vaccination waiver in place. Never again will a child have to suffer the way she did.

Emme had a wonderful check up! She passed with flying colors, and with no tears until the TB test. She recovered quickly with a sucker, and the security of Daddy’s arms. This is her favorite place to be! Now that I have gotten used to being #2 (ok #3 some days) I love watching her fall in love with Jeff. It is so sweet! She let’s me do everything for her in my care-giving role, but she is just a Daddy’s girl. They are precious together!! And, you know she loves her Jie Jie.. We hear her say “Jie Jie la” about 100 times a day. I think this means, “come and play with me!” Ainsley is amazing with her. We are very proud of the Big Sister!!

After a long nap for Emme (and Jeff) we went back to Shamian Island alone. We love wondering around familiar territory in China. We visited some of our favorite shops, and had dinner at Lucy’s!

We have another easy day today.. We are going to do some sightseeing with the group in the morning! My Starbucks just arrived so it’s time to close this post!
