We are starting to
feel like we are in the home stretch here in Guangzhou… We are
getting into our routine here. Sleeping in, Starbucks, sight
seeing, lunch, nap, pool, etc.. It has begun to feel like a
vacation here at The Garden! However, we are counting down the
days to be with Sienna and Ruby again!
The only thing on our agenda today was getting back to the
Medical Exam building on the island for Emme Jade’s TB test to
be read. We are happy to report it was normal!!! We are so
thankful to know that now there is no obstacle in our way to get
Emme’s Visa so she can travel home.
After our time on the island, we ventured to a local shopping
district in Guangzhou.
Jeff and I were wondering how we missed this on our other trips.
It was a great area! Jeff was able to buy Emme’s pearls and
earrings, just like he has done for the other girls. Stringing
pearls is an art to watch.
While we were waiting for our bus to pick us up from shopping I
got my first un-solicited hug from Emme Jade. The best kind, she
wrapped her arms around my legs and squeezed me tight! That
definitely made my day!!
I had big plans to do Emme’s red couch photo shoot today. But,
as the day wore on, we decided to postpone that until tomorrow.
We wanted to get the Empress back to the room for her nap.
After her nap we went to the pool at our hotel. Emme seems to
enjoy the water. They have a baby pool here, so she loved
splashing around in it with her stacking cups. We have a story
worth noting after our swim. We took the elevator up to our
hotel floor. Emme ran ahead of us, and ran straight to our
room.. Almost like she could read the room numbers.. We thought
it was pretty impressive considering how many rooms there are in
each hallway here! She must be brilliant! :)
Miss Emme Jade is also starting to get the title of , “Little
Miss Independent!” Tonight while Jeff was getting ready, Ainsley
and I took her down to the outdoor garden for some photos…
Instead of taking her picture, Emme wanted to run wild.. Well,
she is not steady on her feet. She is a true toddler.. So, it
was crazy running after her so she would not get hurt! We have
some work to do on listening when Mama says, “no!” We will be
getting the stairs baby proofed when we get home!
It is hard to believe that one week ago we met Emme Jade for the
first time. Here she is now, blossoming into an amazing little
girl with such spunk and joy in her heart. Once again we marvel
at God’s faithfulness!
Tomorrow morning we have our Consulate Appointment. Then we are
just two days away from being a family of six! As much as we
have loved this time in China, we are ready to come home!
Blessings,
Diana
